Kelly Rapunzel Alafia Evelyn Glenda Hasani Jabari The Los Angeles Zoo has 2 groups of Western Lowland Gorillas. The Family group consists of Silverback Kelly, adult females Alafia, Rapunzel and Evelynas well as young female Glenda.
The Bachelor group consists of Brothers Hasani and Jabari The Los Angeles Zoo is 133 acres and has around 1,100 Animals. The Zoo opened in 1966 and is located in Griffith Park, Los Angeles, California.Their 1st gorilla birth was a female named Lina and she was born in 1973 to parents Bom and Diane. The Gorilla exhibit features a large enclosure for the family group and a smaller enclosure for the bachelor group. The exhibit features native African Plants, A Waterfall and aStream that runs through the exhibit. There are 2 viewing overlooks and 1 glass viewing are for the family group and 1 overlook and 1 glass viewing are for the bachelor group. The gorilla building is not on public view and features 9 bedrooms. The gorillas also have a large mesh outdoor enclosure so that they can go outside when they are not able to go on public view. The Zoo has 7 gorillas in 2 troops.
